What type of vehicles are allowed over Hoover Dam?

Only passenger vehicles and certain larger vehicles, such as buses and trucks under a specific weight limit, are allowed to cross Hoover Dam. However, oversized vehicles, including those over 40 feet in length or weighing more than 36,000 pounds, are prohibited. Additionally, vehicles carrying hazardous materials are not permitted to cross the dam for safety reasons. Visitors can also utilize a designated pedestrian walkway for walking tours.
