It depends on the breed, some average just over one (Shetland sheep average 1.4), so mostly single births with some twins and some breeds average over two, so mostly twins with a few triplets thrown in. The romanov breed might even average as high as 3 or 4, with at times as many as 5 or 6. I think the record is 7.
