How do you change the antenna mast for a 1992 corvette?

you can purchase the mast, it comes with the nulon lead attached. remove the rubber seal from the top of the antenna and the retainer. turn on the radio and guide the mast from the antenna tube. check the legnth of the old nylon leader vs the new one. in the old one is shorter, some pieces are in the antenna housing. if so, then the antenna has to come out, sort of difficult with the muffler in the way. once out and unplugged take the side cover off and remove the pieces of the old leader, replace cover and reinstall the antenna. don't put the upper retainer on. plug in the antenna and guide the leader down the tube until you feel resistance. turn of the radio and let theleader pull in. align the mast and leader as it goes in the tube and let go all the way in. put the retainer on and then the seal and anything else that was removed. good luck
