Juan Luis Vives (1492-1540), renowned Spanish humanist, philosopher, psychologist and pedagogue, was, at the same time, one of the founders of the theory of translation in Western Europe.

Modern psychologist cite that Sigmund Freud as the father of modern psychology. His theories continue to be reinterpreted today. Much of the language used in psychology comes from Freud and he laid the foundations as well as developed major tools for the methods of treatment for emotional and neurotic disorders.
