Where are the less populated and more populated areas of Saudi Arabia?

The most sparsely populated area is the vast desert known as the empy quarter, Rub' al khali. It is over 250,000 sq miles in extent. Major populated cities are the capital Riyadh, Jeddah on the West coast and Dammam/Al khobar on the East coast.
