How do people know the witching hour is starting?

People will know when it starts in usually in the hour of 3 a.m when withches, ghost, demons , and orther horrible creatures. In the movie paranormal activity, bad things would happen to them at 3 a.m it is best to sleep while the witching hour because it is more safe.
