How did serbian nationalism contribute to World War I?

Bosnian Serbs had been protesting against Austrian rule. Their asassination of the Habsburg heir was taken as a mortal insult, and Germany encouraged Austria to take a tough line. It was in this overheated atmosphere that World War 1 came about.
