What is a geopolitical map?

A Geopolitical map is a map like the tourist map of Missouri, Kansas. My child needs help with this question too on her social studies homework. Would someone mind answering it?
Geopolitics consider the effect of politics on geography, so for example a geopolitical map would be defined not by natural formations or mountain ranges, but also by national boundaries and politically determined points of influence.
