What is scoptoma?

It's a phenomenon when the eyes see what the mind believes.

Evidently, "scoptoma" is a misuse of the Word "scotoma," a Word used in medicine for a condition that causes visual blind spots, and in psychology to describe a mental blind spot -- the inability to understand or perceive some matters.

There is no linguistic authority, such as a reputable dictionary, medical or otherwise, that identifies or defines the Word "scoptoma."
