Put the food in refrigerator, warmer, freezer that have glass window for display. It can last for 2-5 hours if considering the quality, freshness, and taste of the food. Almost all of the food contain preservative except organic food. Most restaurants today will serve and display FRESHLY-COOKED food to attract more customers. Other restaurants put impressive realistic fake food for a display.
