It consists of two phylum ; Bacteria and Blue-Green Algae .
Here are the major characteristics of both of the phylums :-
Bacteria :-- They are single-celled organisms .
- Their cell wall is not made up of cellulose ( mostly , proteins and lipids ) .
- They don't contain a nucleus , but they contain chromosomes .
- They can be useful in making cheese and yogurt , or harmful in causing food poisoning , typhoid and tuberculosis .
- They reproduce by fission ( cell division ) .
Blue-Green Algae :-- They are single-celled organisms which either live free or form filaments .
- The cell wall is not made up of cellulose ( again , mostly proteins and lipids ) .
- They don't contain nucleus , but they contain chromosomes .
- They grow in seas , ponds and on wet rocks .
- Reproduce asexually .
