How many classes of UASs are there?

Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) are commonly classified into three main categories: Group 1, Group 2, and Group 3. Group 1 includes small UAS weighing less than 55 pounds and operating below 1,200 feet. Group 2 covers medium UAS weighing between 55 and 1,320 pounds, typically flying under 10,000 feet. Group 3 encompasses large UAS exceeding 1,320 pounds, which may operate at higher altitudes.
