O3 is OZONE.

It is an allotrope of oxygen.

Atmospheric oxygen has the formula O2, and the structure ' O=O ' . Ozone by comparison has the formula 'O3' , and a triangular structure. ' /</u> ' with an atom of oxygen at each point(node) of the triangle, making for each oxygen atom to have two bonds.

Ozone is quite poisonous to humans and life in general as it can form free radicals. It is found in the upper atmosphere, but NOT at ground level.
