What caused the animosity between Great Britain and Germany before World War 1?

There ar many reasons but the main one would be that the British were the main naval power with Germany second and the Germans were always trying to beat the British. The British then invent the Dreadnought - the starting point of modern day Battleships. The Germans were also looking for a reason to start a war at this point
