Why did Terri-lynne McClintic kill Tori Stafford?

First, it should be noted that as of May 24, 2009, the Crown has not charged Ms. McClintic with murder, but as an accessory to the abduction of Tori Stafford. Ms. McClintic's boyfriend has been charged with abduction and murder. Therefore, a more accurate question might be, "What motive, if any, has been alleged by police investigators with regard to Ms. McClintic's alleged abetting the crime of abduction?"

The answer, as of the above-cited date, is "None." It may well be the case that in the fullness of time an answer will emerge, but as of right now any response would be nothing but baseless speculation.

Tori Stafford's mother has stated to the press that she and her boyfriend had a passing acquaintance with Ms. McClintic's adoptive guardian, and by extension with Ms. McClintic herself. Unsubstantiated stories in the press indicate that the victim's mother and the victim's alleged killer shared a connection relating to the mother's addiction to Oxycontin (a drug that the alleged killer supposedly used or sold). Armchair amateur detectives have suggested that the abduction and murder may have been in retaliation for unpaid debts resulting from drug purchases.
