How do you train chinchillas to climb on your shoulder?

Chinchillas are strong willed and can be difficult to train. Some chinchillas like to ride on shoulders and others really hate it. Small kittens will often snuggle into their owners necks for warmth and this is the best way to get them used to riding on shoulders as adults. However, if you have an adult chinchilla who wants to be trained the best way I have found is to repeat the action of placing the chinchilla on your shoulder and standing many times until the chinchilla is comfortable with it, keep your hands near the chinchilla incase it looses its grip though. Some people recommend bribing the chinchillas with raisins but only 1 or 2 should be given per day as they can cause intestinal problems. Many chinchillas will grow used to the riding on your shoulder if you are quiet and smooth in your actions, try to wear clothing that doesn't russle when you move. but it may take a long time.
