How many comics has marvel made?

Thats almost two separate questions. Comic book stores, or direct distributors, didn't exist untill the late 70's. Before then comics and magazines only were available at periodical and newstands. Now, the absolute first marvel comic was Marvel Comics #1 in 1939 published by Timely Comics. Timely comics became Marvel Comics in 1961 with the publication of the Fantastic Four.
