Is it human nature to want to be part of a group?

In my opinion, I think that every person secretly wants to be apart of some kind of group whether it be at school, work, etc. Even I do, honestly. It's a feeling you get when you just want to fit in somewhere. But is it human nature? I'm really not sure.
