Some food items that affect your voice negatively are dairy, caffeine, carbonation, sugar, wheat, alcohol, citric acid and spicy foods. It really is more about your body, but my vocal coach always told me to eat lean proteins and lots of leafy vegetables, and make sure there is lots of color in your diet. You need lots of water. The rest you should take time to find out how your body does on these things. Some people can process wheat or dairy just fine, but they have been shown to be mucous producing. I think citric acid can be used as a great tool well before an audition to help your body rid itself of mucous, but before an audition or gig it can affect your vocal cords negatively.
