Deserts experience significant temperature fluctuations between day and night due to their low humidity and sparse vegetation, which limit the retention of heat. During the day, the sun heats the ground and air, causing high temperatures; however, at night, the lack of moisture and cloud cover allows heat to rapidly escape into the atmosphere, leading to much cooler temperatures. This diurnal temperature variation is a characteristic feature of desert climates.
