What is the difference between meritocracy and aristocracy?

Meritocracy is due to your efforts, studies, and to your work. Aristocracy is due to how much you have and how much you're worth, and nothing else. Meritocracy will always be harder than aristocracy due to the fact that you have to earn respect by working for it.
