What are the three types of root systems for plants?

There are a number of different types of root systems, as with many things roots do not fit neatly into man-defined groupings.

The three main, recognised systems are: Tap, Adventitious (commonly associated with monocotylednous plants) and aerial root systems (such as epiphitic plants)
