Is there a stereotype for Algeria?

Hello! My name is Emma and I'm an English teacher at a private university in Lima, Peru. I'm currently teaching a course on Global Understanding, based on videoconferences and chat, and these are the stereotypes my students had before the videoconference with Algerian students:

"All Algerians are muslims and all muslim men are dominant and strict while all muslim women are submissive. Also all of them are extremely religious and women have to wear veils mandatorily."
