What's the difference between hotel rooms and hotel suites?

A hotel room generally refers to a one room accomodation. This usually consists of a bed, table, chairs, dresser and t.v. in the room and then a small closet set near the bathroom. A hotel suite comes in a variety of sizes and has more than one room. For instance a small suite may have a living room and a bedroom. A larger suite might have a living area, kitchen area, bedroom(s) and possibly extra bathrooms and/or private balconies.
