What did Lamech do?

He had slain a man in his youth, and was also was father of Noah. Gen 4:18 And unto Enoch was born Irad: and Irad begat Mehujael: and Mehujael begat Methusael: and Methusael begatLamech.

Gen 4:19 And Lamech took unto him two wives...

Gen 4:23 And Lamech said unto his wives, Adah and Zillah, Hear my voice; ye wives of Lamech, hearken unto my speech: for I have slain a man to my wounding, and ayoung man to my hurt.

(The CEV translates verse 23 as:-

" One day, Lamech said to his two wives, "A young man wounded me, and I killed him. ")

Gen 5:28 And Lamech lived an hundred eighty and two years, and begat a son:

Gen 5:29 And he called his name Noah, saying, This same shall comfort us concerning our work and toil of our hands, because of the ground which the LORD hath cursed.
