How do you turn on a Segway?

A magnetic key is supplied which you hold up to the sensor on the handle bar to turn the machine on. To cause the machine to turn when you are driving it, the first generation Segways have a twist lever on the left handle bar to turn left and right. The second generation Segways turn by leaning the control stick to the left or right.
