Do you send a thank you card when you thank someone in person?

i want to know the answer too! personally, i say no for many reasons. it wastes paper it wastes time all i do when i get a thank you note is open it and throw it in the trash, i don't think aw that person is sweet it is just as good as a written note.. a written note doesn't make me think that they are more appreciative.. i just think that it is unnecessary..thoughts?
