Why don't producers have arrows pointing toward them in a food chain?

In a food chain, arrows point from one organism to another to indicate the direction of energy flow. Producers, such as plants, are the base of the food chain and generate energy through photosynthesis. Since they are the starting point for energy transfer, they do not have arrows pointing toward them; instead, arrows point away from producers to primary consumers, who consume the energy they produce.
