How deep can a pelican dive?

Sea gulls will dive under the water to catch their prey. They are also known to swim on the surface of the water and dip their heads under the water to catch their food.

There are 46 species of gulls worldwide, in the subfamily Larinae. Not one is called "seagull". This is a generic term for any gull species.
