What was the purpose of the Nicene Creed?

This document is a Christian Statement of faith adopted and practiced by many religious groups. These groups include Eastern Orthodox Church, Assyrian Church of the East, Oriental Orthodox churches, the Roman Catholic Church, the Lutheran Church, the Anglican Communion, and almost all branches of Protestantism, including the Reformed churches, the Presbyterian Church, and the Methodist Church.

The purpose of the Nicene Creed, is basically the full beliefs of the Church summed up in one doctrine. Usually the Christian denominations following and believing strongly in the Nicene Creed include Orthodoxy, Catholicism and Pentecostalism.
