In 3-dimensional geometry, the term "perimeter of a sphere" is not normally used.

The closest thing would be the equatorial circumference. Think of cutting a ball (with radius r) in half, and looking at the outline of the cut surface. It is a circle with radius r, and the usual circle formula applies:

C = 2(pi)r
