If you receive a ticket for not wearing a seat belt in Connecticut does it affect your insurance premiums in Massachusetts?

Unlikely. The only way it could become what would still constitute a relatively minor issue is you had no medical insurance or injury coverage and were stopped for this an excessive amount of times in which case it still would have little affect if any.

If you're in an accident, not belted in and are injured which for whatever reason has to be paid by the insurance you might see a rate increase then. But just a ticket, don't worry. That is only a civil penalty!

IN SOME places, not wearing a seat belt IS a traffic code offense, with a loss of driver demerit points, and it WILL affect the insurance rates, next year.

It is up to the individual driver to KNOW the law in their place of residence.
