Do you feel the pain when your put to sleep during circumcised?

Last year i took my 13yr old to be circumcised and having read and come across numerous web pages saying how barbaric and how traumatising circumcision was i was expecting nothing less than a blood bath.. In my sons case he wasnt put to sleep and with him being a minor i had to attend, the operation was done when he was awake, he was injected a few times around the penis and then he was fully circumcised & frenum was also removed at the same time. He played on his psp whilst being circumcised and stood next to him and watched, 10days later he was back at school he could have gone earlier but we wanted to make sure he was ok etc. A friend asked him in the car one day on the way back from swimming what it was like having it done, he said the only pain he felt was the first injection. This friend was also circumcised weeks later, i think he needed someone to tell him it was ok and wasnt as painful as expected. So to answer your question, i think when you are asleep being circumcised they will no doubt numb the area first, before they circumcise. And after your circumcision you will have to take a couple of pain killers daily for the first couple of days no aspirin though just paracetamol.
