In six lines which came first - the chicken or the egg?

In evolutionary theory, there would have been a species that was almost, but not quite, a chicken. And this would then have had an offspring that was a true chicken. So in this scenario, the egg came first.

In Genesis, or the creationist theory, God created all the animals of Earth to be for the use of mankind. They were all created and in place before the arrival of the first man. And so in that scenario, the chicken came first.
