From the Word Ashashin, a member of a secret order of Muslims (founded in the 12th century) who terrorized and killed Christian Crusaders Answer 'Assassin' comes from the Word Hashishin. Which in turn was named for a middle eastern tribe whom loved to smoke hashish and was apparently quite 'blood thirsty'.
