From Christian Perspective:YES From Islamic Perspective:
No, Adam and Eve were not cursed by God. They were only blamed. When they admitted they mistake, God allowed them to repent. They then repented and God has forgiven them.
Quran says (English meaning translation):
- " ... Then Adam received from his Lord Words (see the other Quran verse below) and his Lord accepted his repentance. Verily , He (God) is the Most Merciful"
[Quran, chapter 2, verse 37]
- "O Adam! dwell you and your wife in the Garden, and enjoy (its good things) as you wish: but don't approach this tree, or you run into harm and transgression." Then began Satan to whisper suggestions to them, bringing openly before their minds all their shame that was hidden from them (before): he said: "Your Lord only forbade you this tree, for not becoming angels or being alive for ever." And he swore to them both, that he was their sincere adviser. So by deceit he brought about their fall: when they tasted of the tree, their shame became manifest to them, and they began to sew together the leaves of the garden over their bodies. And their Lord called them: "Did I not forbid you that tree, and tell you that Satan was an avowed enemy to you?" They said: "Our Lord! We have wronged our own souls: If you (Allah) don't forgive us and don't bestow upon us your Mercy, we shall certainly be lost." (Allah) said: "Get both down with enmity between yourselves (mankind). On earth will be your dwelling-place and your means of livelihood,- for a time." He said: "Therein shall you live, and therein shall you die; but from it shall you be taken out (at last)." [Quran, chapter7 (Surat Al-A'raf), verse 19 to 25]
Moreover, God already knew that Adam & eve would eat from the tree before they really did, in fact, God forbade Adam from eating from the tree as a test of Adam's obedience to God's commands, and to let Adam know his true enemy.
Quran says (English meaning translation):
"O Children of Adam! Let not Satan deceive you as he caused your (first) parents to go forth from the Garden and strip them of raiment to show them their private parts. Verily, he and his tribe see you from where you cannot see him. Verily, We (God) have made the devils protectors and helpers for those who believe not...And when they do some lewdness (going naked around al-Kaaba and every kind of unlawful sex) they say: We found our fathers doing it and Allah has commanded it on us. Say: Allah, verily, never commands Fahishah (evil deed).Do you say of Allah what you know not ?" [Quran, chapter 7, verse 27-28]
