What is a faun?

Faun: The Fauns, which are associated with Satyrs, but are known to be gentler, are mischievous creatures with the legs, ears and tail of a deer and the face and body of a handsome young man. They follow the god Faunus and can cause nightmares. At times, they can also be quite cheerful. Faunus: A minor Roman deity that helped farmers and shepherds. A faun is represented as looking like a man (head, arms, torso), but with ears, horns, tail, and legs (including hooves) of a goat.
