What is the best way to respond to a male being sexist towards you or a female friend?

I think that the best thing to do is show him or act like it doesn't phase you. He probably likes it when you are or look hurt. DO NOT give him the pleasure of seeing that you actually notice this. If this does not work then confront him alone. Try not to make a scene.
