How are the metaplasmic materials in cells formed?

Short answer for now until I have more data. The metaplasmic material is not a natural part of function of the cell. This is a build up of foreign material most likely due to overwhelming toxic conditions and thus the protoplasm of cells are being used as a sort of 'dumping grounds' for many toxic materials. This build up of metaplasmic material causes catastrophic damage to the cell.
