Why do people make dark gothic doom metal music?

i write Gothic metal lyrics and music as a way to release anger and express myself. and if you listen to the music and read the lyrics you can, with out a doubt, tell that there is a significant amount of songs pertaining to love, death, and how much that one person meant to the composer. take the song "for my fallen angel" by MY DYING BRIDE, even though the song is short as hell lyrical wise. lol. is has deep meaning. its about 16 lines long 5 Words each line but it tells a story about this mans love for a woman who has passed on. he kisses in her casket and remembers nights that they spent together and how he will never get that chance again.. to help you better understand here are the lyrics..
