Does zen work on windows media player?

Yes it can. You need to upgrade to the latest firmware that has the capability to read creative zen in Windows explorer.

Be careful about updating the firmware if you are wunning Windows Media Player 11. You will have to roll back to 10, remove few other WMP 11 related programs then reinstall the drivers, the firmware, and then upgrade it to WMP 11 and re-install the driver.

It took me about an hour to do all this. At one point my zen was unresponsive with firmware not working, but folowing these steps would get you up and running.

And back up everything before you do anything.
