Who is the author of One thousand and one nights?

1001 Arabian Nights is a collection of stories that authors have gathered over time. There is no one author but there are a few named translators and editors. Captain Sir Richard F. Burton translated a large portion of 1001 Arabian Nights and Geraldine McCaughrean is a modern editor of the Oxford edition.
