Yes Edward became king and when he died he handed the throne to Lady Jane Gray (who was more than unhappy for this to happen and refused the title of "Queen"), then after nine days of her reign Mary, Edward sister, became Queen. After Mary's very unpopular reign, Elzabeth, debatably one of England's most successful rulers, became Queen.
