What is the importance of F and B service in Hotel industry?

I don't know particulars about these categorical services but being a guest I guess the most important focus of service should be that any expensive or cheap London hotels or any other location must have friendly staff that will be happy to assist you during your stay with them with offering a refreshingly homely atmosphere and great value for money
