Where are Cairo and monrovia situated in relation to the equator and the Sahara desert?

It lies to the northeast of the Sahara Desert, which covers a significant portion of North Africa. Monrovia, the capital of Liberia, is situated closer to the equator, around 6 degrees North latitude, placing it in the tropical region of West Africa. It is located to the southwest of the Sahara Desert, well outside its arid boundaries.
