It created the Nebraska and Kansas territories. Repealed the Missouri Compromise of 1820. Allowed settlers to determine if they wanted slavery or not. Also was initial started to create the opportunity to for Mideastern Transcontinental Railroad, and aroused the debate of slavery again among the Northern and Southern states.
