Not necessarily, since a "cup" is a measurement of volume (and a rough standard of weight if using dry ingredients only: i.e. flour, sugar, salt). Six ounces of chocolate potentially could have more or less mass (volume) depending on it's form (shavings, mini-chips, std-sized chips, large chips, baking squares, block).
