What nationality were the 3 wise men?

I've wondered this for a long time. When I was a kid I remember the song where it says, "We three kings of Orient are..." I related the Word "Orient" to "Oriental," and assumed that they were Chinese. Later I learned that "Oriental" simply means "eastern." Therefore, the wise men came from the east to see Jesus. It doesn't necessarily mean they were from China. I'm sure it's possible, of course, but most likely they were from Arabia, Persia, or Asia Minor.
