Suzuki XL7 and the ABS light came on what is the ABS?

It's the antilock braking system. The light will turn on momentarily when you are starting the vehicle to show that the system is functioning properly. However, if the light stays on for more than a few seconds after starting the engine, or comes on as you are driving, then the diagnostic unit has registered a fault somewhere in the braking system which needs to be checked out as soon as possible by a qualified mechanic.
