What holiday is celebrated after Christmas day?

In countries such as the UK and Australia, the day after Christmas is also a public holiday, and it is called Boxing Day. The day is thought to have originated in England when rich households would "box up" some gifts for their servants, who were unable to have Christmas Day off (as they were serving their households). Another theory is that it originated from the tradition of leaving food and other necessities for the poor in boxes outside churches on the day after Christmas.
